BSSH Conference 2014: Call for Papers

The British Society of Sports History (BSSH) 32nd Annual Conference

Friday 5 September – Saturday 6 September 2014
at Leeds Metropolitan University, City Campus

Papers are welcomed on all themes related to sport history and physical recreation.

This year we especially encourage submissions from those researching the historical experiences of black, minority and ethnic groups in sport and physical recreation in Britain.

Our conference is renowned for providing a positive experience for postgraduate presenters. The Richard W. Cox Postgraduate Prize is open to all postgraduates submitting papers to our conference. Further information about conditions of entry can be found at:

Guidelines and Deadline for Submissions

Please submit individual or co-authored abstracts (c.200 words for 20 minutes presentation) as a Word document (including author’s name, presentation title and affiliation) by email attachment to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by Friday 25 April, 2014.
