INVITATION TO THE LAUNCH OF THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL HERITAGE ARCHIVE AND STUDY CENTRE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WORCESTER

Friday 30 September, 3.30pm, Joel Richards Conference and Media Suite, University of Worcester Arena, Hylton Road, Worcester, WR2 5JN

It gives us great pleasure to invite you and your guest to the launch of the National Basketball Heritage Archive and Studies Centre (NBHASC), Friday 30 September at 3.30pm, in the Joel Richards Conference and Media Suite at the University of Worcester Arena.

The launch will showcase the valuable, unique, exciting and inspiring collection of rare archive material and sporting memorabilia held at the University of Worcester. The earliest Basketball Heritage Collection was deposited at the University of Worcester in 2015 by John Atkinson and supplemented by additional material from Jenny Collins, two respected British Basketball historians. This event will afford guests the opportunity to hear more about the University’s work to preserve basketball’s cultural heritage, showcase its national significance and ultimately engage wider audiences with the sport and its fascinating past.

Additionally, we would like to invite you to submit your own historical basketball-related materials of local and global significance at the launch. If you have any materials which you think may be of interest, please email researchcollections@worc.ac.uk

Following the launch event, Worcester Wolves play Sheffield Sharks at the Arena, tip off 7.30pm. If you are interested in attending the match, please let us know when you reply.

Please reply to Becky Seabright at rsvp@worc.ac.uk or by calling 01905 857515 by Thursday 22 September.
