As of 2014/15, BSSH is providing seed funding to support the establishment of regional networks of sport and leisure historians across the UK. Such networks have already been set up in:
- Scotland (Twitter, contact)
- North West of England ( contact)
- South of England (further details, Twitter)
Seed funding will also be allocated from 2015-16 onwards to one additional regional network per academic year, subject to review.
If you would be interested in setting up a network in your region, then please read the Networks Policy Document, which outlines BSSH’s obligations to the networks, and vice versa, before filling in the Regional Networks Funding Application Form and sending it to BSSH Networks Development Officer, Dion Georgiou, at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for the receipt of applications for funding is 31st May 2015. Applicants will be informed as to whether their application was successful by 30th June 2015. Funding will be distributed to successful applicants from 1st September 2015.
We would strongly encourage you to email Dion in advance for advice about the application process, or indeed about any other queries you might have regarding the regional networks initiative and existing regional networks. You can also apply to the BSSH Small Grants Fund for financial support for individual regional events: http://sportinhistory.org/resources/funding.html.
