We are proud to support a range of members' sport history activities, initiatives and research with funding.
Our annual conference is a focal point for us where many of our members come together to share their research and enthusiasm with the community. But this is just one part of what we do. We also provide funding for independent research and to host events; we present awards for exceptional work in the discipline; run seminars (although these are, regrettably, on hold at the moment due to Covid-19); and edit a podcast which features research and reflections from a variety of sport historians.
We aim to include researchers at all career stages, in academic and non-academic contexts. We warmly welcome postgraduate students and ECRs and have a long track record of supporting our more junior members with their research, and bringing them in to the organisation itself. One of our Trustees has specific responsibility for this.
