BSSH funding has helped support a new exhibition that features women's football history. The exhibition titled 'The Sterling Ladies to the Lionesses: The Legacy of the Dagenham Invincibles of WW1' is now open at the Valence House Museum in Dagenham. Besides the exploits of the Sterling Ladies Factory side who remained undefeated in matches between 1917 and 1919, the exhibition also celebrates a century of pioneering women footballers and the latest local initiatives in Barking and Dagenham to promote the women's game.

The exhibition is curated by BSSH member Steve Bolton who has spent several years studying women's football and presenting numerous displays featuring the game. One of his recent collaborations was with Professor Fiona Skillen and Dr Karen Fraser on a touring exhibition on the subject of Rutherglen Ladies FC. His current exhibition opened on 15 February and will run at Valence House until 29 March 2025.
